Rob Sudduth is a Bay Area native, a saxophonist whose direct, soulful style is the result of his experience in San Francisco's eclectic music scene and years working in New York City's dynamic environment. He is equally comfortable performing with blues, jazz and rock bands, and blends the genres effortlessly. He brings the honesty of the blues to jazz, and the swing and melodic conception of Jazz to blues music, without compromising the essence of either.

His CD Just One of Those Things received international recognition and airplay. 

He has been fortunate to perform with many superb artists, including Ben Goldberg, Trevor Dunn, Graham Connah, Carla Kihlstedt, Kenny Wollesen, Ches Smith, Marty Wehner, Ellery Eskelin, Nels Cline, Bruce Forman, Randy Vincent, Steve Cardenas, Mark Levine, Peter Zak and Steven Bernstein. 

From 1994 to 2018 he toured and recorded with Huey Lewis and the News nationally and internationally, appearing on numerous television shows and at major festivals ( and is co-composer with Huey and Chris Hayes of So Little Kindness on Time Flies...Greatest Hits on Elektra Records.

He has performed at many of the major music festivals: Montreux, Monterey, SF Jazz, Toronto, Montreal, Bergamo, San Jose, Healdsburg, Wels Music Unlimited ( AU ) and Saalfelden (AU). 

Other activites include recording with Norah Jones on the CD Not Too Late ( Blue Note Records ) and performing with The Doobie Brothers  

During his time in NYC he frequently performed in the Tony-winning Billy Joel/Twyla Tharp prouction on Broadway, Movin' Out and also the orchestras for Grease and Hairspray during their Broadway runs. He also performed at jazz venues such as Birdland The Stone and Smalls, as a leader and with artists including pianist Peter Zak and the Arturo O'Farrill Latin Jazz Orchestra.  

He performs regularly in Italy with organist Alberto Marsico and is featured in the varied projects of pianist/composer Claudio Angeleri, also guesting as a clinician at Angeleri's Centro Didattico produzione Musica in Bergamo, and for the Bergamo Jazz Festival. 

He has recorded and performed with blues and swing acts such as Lavay Smith and the Red Hot Skillet Lickers and The Johnny Nocturne Band  jazz vocalist Kim Nalley, and has backed up artists such as Ricki Lee Jones.
